I found myself in traffic behind a pickup truck with a sticker of a cowboy in the rear window. Half the cowboy's face, under the hat, is in shadow. It's actually a very good graphic, and quite popular, but try as I might, I could not find a copy of it on the cattlenets.
What I find most interesting about the original, is that the hat is represented by three pieces - a curl to the left, a lump in the middle and a curved line out to the right.
I tried to recreate it here, and in a couple of other drawings, because it just works. I don't know how else to explain it. That's when you know you've hit on a great graphic, when you get your point across in monochrome?, you are done.
